Project Name: LunarDAO

Project Description: LunarDAO invests in privacy projects and anonymity-oriented tooling for the lunarpunk society. By prioritizing technical excellence, practicality and an uncompromising philosophy of freedom it creates value building towards a self-sustaining antifragile ecosystem. We believe that lunarpunk is not something distant. It is available to anyone who is ready to make a choice: to let nation-states control our lives or to join the fight for freedom.

Anyone can join LunarDAO and start a new investment project or take part in an existing one. Learn how to use free software and privacy tools, extend the reach of infrastructure, exit Big Tech and the surveillance state, learn programming, study economics and build the counter-economy.

THE AIMS OF LUNARDAO ARE:

  • Enable parallel confederated societies that are diverse and autonomous but mutually protect each other against central authority.
  • Learn, educate, share knowledge. Education is fundamental in our struggle for free life, autonomy, and community.
  • Develop infrastructure for economy and politics beyond the state, that is uncensorable, sovereign and anonymous. Expand the dark forest.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

There are 2 separate steps that must be taken in order to participate in a grant round:

  1. Create Your Grant on builder.gitcoin.co

  2. Apply to the specific Grant Round you wish to participate in

Gitcoin Grants Stack now supports various L2’s. In order to participate by applying to a round or donating in one, you’ll need to ensure that you bridge your funds correctly to the appropriate network.

Web3 Infrastructure

This round aims to strengthen the Ethereum ecosystem’s foundational infrastructure by supporting projects crucial for its development, scalability, and security. We seek to fund initiatives that focus on core client teams and development, staking infrastructure and diversity, decentralized identity and cross-layer solutions, security and scalability innovations, wallet security and privacy technologies, and standardization and future-proofing efforts. Successful projects will demonstrate a significant contribution to the Ethereum network’s infrastructure, addressing both foundational needs and innovative solutions to current challenges, while engaging in pioneering development that promises to elevate the ecosystem, particularly in areas of privacy, interoperability, and user experience.

  2. Engagement in Pioneering Development: A focus on pioneering technologies or approaches that promise to elevate the Ethereum ecosystem, particularly in enhancing privacy, interoperability, and user experience.

Had a little trouble creating a profile for LunarDAO at first, but now everything is setup (although profile image and banner image are still not showing). The next step is to apply for the round. The following screenshots are all of the questions for the round application.

LunarDAO’s mission is to bring privacy to the web3 ecosystem

LunarDAO believes a strong principled FOSS philosophy. The tagline “Make Ethereum Cypherpunk again” evokes a message we want to carry. The Lunarpunk philosophy that LunarDAO carries address an alternative path. Not an inversion of the solarpunk ethos throughout the ETH ecosystem, but a completely different vision that builds tools that are anti-fragile, protect identities, and informs users of their state in the world, and how to form resilient squads.

How does your project promise to elevate the Eth ecosystem particularly in enhancing privacy?
LunarDAO’s first raise lip/lip-0003.md at main · lunardao/lip · GitHub went to Firn Protocol, which is a state-of-the-art, zero-knowledge privacy utility for Ethereum and EVM-based rollups.

LunarDAO creates a flywheel for the entire ecosystem to benefit. The teams building the software benefit from receiving an injection of capital. Participants in LunarDAO benefit from the value of network appreciation, and the ETH and privacy ecosystems benefit from the birth of new privacy primitives and tools.

Address regulatory measures as opposed to freedom and sovereignty.
Act in unity and provide mutual support.
Share knowledge, proposals and directions for people to enhance privacy.

Create platform to expand knowledge.
Articles/podcasts/interviews: Privacy as a mean in struggle for liberation, not just for profit.

List known cases: Basis of the attack, response from privacy partisans.

Quick Update:

Received this answer from the GG20 support chat.

“16th was the hard deadline in order to ensure you get a review ahead of the round starting. This period is for any appeals, reviews and late applications. You can still apply, but then you’ll only be reviewed by the 28th!”
